иногда хочется сказать что-то эдакое и не ‘pumpkin’ из регистра слов уровня proficiency, а немного разбавить свою речь синонимами #overusedwords или что говорить вместо ‘I will try’, ‘I am trying’, let’s try’ (1) try = попытаться (и посмотреть, что выйдет): give it a go / have a go / take a stab at it — I’ll give it a go tonight. — I took a stab at writing the intro. (2) try = постараться: make an effort / do my best / put in the work — I’ll make an effort to speak more english this week. — I’m putting in the work. (3) try = протестировать (как эксперимент): test / trial / experiment with — let’s experiment with a new warm-up format. — I’m testing this approach with my students. (4) try = попытаться уговорить/достучаться: convince / persuade / talk someone into — I’m persuading him to come. (5) try = попытаться решить проблему: work on / tackle / address — I’m tackling my pronunciation. — we need to address the real issue. 😊 — спасибо за пост
